Fair and Square
World renowned Irish abstract artist Sean Scully’s latest exhibition begins at the Kerlin Gallery this evening with its opening reception. Featuring work spanning more than 50 years, ‘Square’ offers an insight into the particular importance the square itself has played in Scully’s work. Intriguingly, the exhibition will also include a series of prints of drawings made by the artist’s finger using an iPhone screen, shown in public for the first time. Runs until June 25.

strong suit
Irish sustainable swimwear brand Kahm was founded by two sisters who grew up swimming competitively, so they each understand the nuances of comfortable, wearable and flattering swimwear. The Éire, pictured, is the brand’s signature piece, designed with long-sleeves and a cut-out back. With coverage where most women want it – at the front – a medium-cut round the bum for a flattering silhouette, and a stylish open back, this piece will look as good in the Mediterranean as in the baltic Atlantic Ocean. €70; sizes go up to an 18.

Go Potty
I love these Art Deco plant pots from interiors heaven District By Mia in Wicklow town. This coastal Aladdin’s Cave of beautiful things has everything you’ll need to create an outdoor space for summer that’s full of personality and individuality. A wonderful spot for browsing and buying.

Pretty Cool
New York native Christina Goldston has been designing and creating her exquisite jewellery collection in Dublin for many years. Her signature pieces feature freshwater pearls, crystals and semi-precious gemstones, and they have a delicate modernity that will appeal to women who want accessories that shine but don’t shout. The Ailsa bracelet, above, is €49.

Take note
Any Dublin dwellers among you, please take note! The little wine bar with great style that opened towards the end of the year last year has opened a bistro serving really, really good food. The business has that kind of cool that it feels as if you might be sitting in London, or Paris, or Barcelona - but in fact, you are on Fenian St, near Pearse St Dart station. Note is surrounded with windows making people-watching most enjoyable, but so is the watching inside the space - it’s full of an interesting looking creative crowd (and we spotted a few first dates too!). The ambience is cool, the drinks are sublime. I had the above Negroni there last Wednesday on the evening they launched the bistro and whilst I do think the kitchen will refine itself and the staff, who are lovely and very well-versed in the fascinating wine list and food provenance, will relax into the service (it was the first night and it felt a bit anxious). But it’s a fantastic spot with a lot of love and passion behind it - which will be returned to them in spades by their customers, no doubt.

super size summer skin
It’s time! I quite look forward to the Chanel summer beauty launch each year as they always nail what summer beauty should be. A hint of sheen on eyes, dewy, glowy skin and soft balmy colour on cheeks and lips. The cornerstone of all this gloriousness is always the Les Beiges collection and the now-iconic bronzing product - Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream. This year, one change is that they are super-sizing the products so they don’t run out quickly - so we can buff, bronze and glow to our heart’s content without scrimping to save some of the pot to see us to September! Have a look here.

DAily Skin Safety
Ok, so you all know the importance of daily sun protection, whether or not the sun is shining directly on you or not, right? It’s essential for a healthy, clear complexion, but that’s just the vanity metric - it can protect your life as well as your skin! So, with that lecture over, here’s a great one to get. It sits very well on skin, doesn’t bobble and pill under makeup and is one you can rely on. Get it at Cult Beauty.

Beaded bag
This Massimo Dutti beaded bag is vaguely reminiscent of those car seat bead things that everyone’s parents had to help their back pain back in the late 80s/early 90s - remember them? But that aside, this bag is giving off some lovely summer vibes. It’s a great size and suitable for fitting all the summer faff (suncream/flip flops/a little towel in case you find yourself sea-side unexpectedly) but it also looks super-chic for wafting around in a black linen dress and feeling all Mediterranean.
